Tests are needed to ensure performance and reliability. The highest level of testing is called system testing. That is when you test the fully integrated pick and place system; software and hardware. It validates the fully integrated application, including additional components such as buffering systems.<\/p>\n<h2>Types of system testing<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Happy-flow tests<\/b> are used to check default scenarios and functions of the robot, e.g. correctly <a href=\"https:\/\/smart-robotics.io\/smart-palletizer\/\">picking and placing boxes on a pallet<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Error-handling tests\u00a0<\/b>makes sure all possible causes for system errors are tested.<\/li>\n<li><b>Recovery tests<\/b>\u00a0are performed to demonstrate that you can successfully recover the cobot from possible errors and exceptions.<\/li>\n<li><b>Configuration tests<\/b>\u00a0use different possible configuration of software and hardware to ensure the application works well in all needed states.<\/li>\n<li><b>Extreme tests<\/b>\u00a0are used to ensure the cobot system will work properly under extreme conditions, e.g. testing different box sizes and weights.<\/li>\n<li><b>Endurance tests<\/b>\u00a0are performed to test the happy-flow of a cobot over a significant amount of time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Stable and reliable pick and place system<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\">As has been described above, using system testing to test a <a href=\"https:\/\/smart-robotics.io\/what-is-a-pick-and-place-robot\/\">pick and place robot<\/a> as a whole is an important part of any successful quality control process. After all, one needs to ensure the cobot will be fully functional at the customer and will perform its tasks as required.
